The Vodacom Stormers came away winners in their first “charity challenge” with the Nashua Cape Cobras.

The two Western Cape teams will be doing battle on the field on Sunday 3 February when they go head to head in a Pro 20 style cricket game at Sahara Park Newlands – all in the name of charity.

On Wednesday morning, players from both teams took to the streets in Rondebosch to sell copies of the Big Issue Magazine, with all proceeds going to the Big Issue.

In just over an hour, the 7 players managed to sell 80 magazines and raise over R1000. The Vodacom Stormers sold 51 magazines, ensuring that they lead the challenge 1-0.

Be sure to get to Sahara Park Newlands on Sunday 3rd February to see who which team walks away the ultimate winners. The match kicks off at 12pm and tickets are available from Sahara Park Newlands and Computicket.
