A judicial hearing was held in Johannesburg on Monday following the incident on Saturday in which Blues player Rua Tipoki struck Investec Stormers’ Jean De Villiers during a Vodacom Rugby Super 12 game played at Newlands.

The hearing at Ellis Park was chaired by Johannesburg attorney Boela Van Der Merwe. Piet Niemann and Max Baer acted as fellow panellists.

Tipoko was found guilty and suspended for three weeks until May 16, 2005.
