Investec Stormers player Jean De Villiers was assessed by a plastic surgeon on Tuesday.

The facial burst laceration (cut) sustained in the game against the Blues last Saturday has not healed adequately to allow contact. De Villiers will thus not be available for selection against the Chiefs this week.

The stitches to De Villiers’s face will be left in for 10 days, where after his availability to participate in the Investec Stormers/Cats fixture will be assessed.
