The DHL Stormers back-line players took some time out their training schedules today and spent an hour at the Tygerberg Children’s Hospital in Cape Town.
“We decided to come spend some time with the children, most of their hospital beds face our training facility here in Bellville so they can see us, they just not in a condition to come to us, which is why we came to them” said Captain Jean de Villiers.
The players visited the Orthopaedic and Surgical wards respectively, players got to mingle with the children, signed autographs, handed them gifts and took photographs.
“We as players are in such a privileged environment, yet these children fight a much bigger battle than us on any given Saturday. It was an honour to be here with them today, as they put many of our lives into perspective” added the Captain Jean de Villiers”.
