Western Province Rugby has received an offer from a French club to sign DHL Stormers scrumhalf Dewaldt Duvenage.

Western Province Rugby CEO Rob Wagner said: “We have been approached about Dewaldt, and are aware of an offer that has been made to him, but he is still under contract and he has not been released by us (as of yet).

“However, WP Rugby will not stand in Dewaldt’s way and we are considering the offer and the request to give him an early release from his contract should he wish to play for a foreign club, dependent on terms and conditions being met.”

Duvenage, who turns 25 in May, has played 61 matches for the DHL Stormers and an additional 51 games for DHL WP.
