Vodacom Stormers to face Sharks and Force

Newlands Rugby Stadium will be the venue for three of the top Super Rugby franchises, when the Sharks, Western Force and Stormers face each other in a round of pre-season warm-up matches ahead of the 2010 Vodacom Super 14.

The Vodacom Stormers will kick-off their campaign against Australia’s Western Force on Saturday 23 January (17h00) at their home ground in Newlands. Coastal counterparts the Sharks then face the Force on Tuesday 26 January (19h00) at the same venue, after which the Stormers will do battle against the men from Natal on Friday 29 January (19h00).

The traditional friendly match between the Vodacom Stormers and provincial neighbours Boland will once again take place. Boland Rugby Union, who play hosts to this fixture, have opted to move the fixture from their home ground in Wellington to the new Cape Town Stadium in Green Point. The match will take place on Saturday 6 February.

Ticket information for the Newlands based pre-season fixtures (Vodacom Stormers vs Force, Sharks vs Force and Vodacom Stormers vs Sharks) are as follows:

Tickets for all three matches will go on sale through Computicket, Shoprite, Shoprite Checkers and Checkers Hyper Stores nationwide on Monday 11 January. Tickets can also be purchased on www.computicket.com or via the Computicket Credit Card booking line on 082 915 8000. Tickets are priced at R50 for seating (all stands), R20 for standing room and R10 for scholars* (in the scholars area’s only). The Newlands Box Office will open on Tuesday 19 January (Office Hours: 9am to 4pm).

Please note that Season Tickets and Scholars Season Tickets are NOT valid for these friendly fixtures.

*The Scholars areas are behind the posts on the Jan Pickard and Danie Craven Stands. These areas are strictly for under 18’s (school going) only – adults will not be permitted to be seated in these areas.
