Two changes for Vodacom Stormers

Kobus Van Der Merwe, head coach of the Vodacom Stormers, on Thursday announced two changes to his team to play the Reds at Newlands on Saturday 28 April. Kick-off is at 17h05.

Springbok No 8 Joe van Niekerk replaces the injured Justin Melck in the starting XV. Melck sustained his injury in the stunning victory over the Blues at Newlands last Saturday.

His absence means a return to the fray for Eddie Andrews, who had to come back early from the overseas tour of Australia and New Zealand due to an injury. Andrews will be one of two props on the bench.

And loosehead prop JD Moller is back after getting a bit of a breather last weekend when he was on the bench. He takes over from Schalk Ferreira, who reverts to the substitutes’ bench.

Vodacom Stormers: 15 Conrad Jantjes, 14 Breyton Paulse, 13 Jean De Villiers, 12 De Wet Barry, 11 Brent Russell, 10 Peter Grant, 9 JP Joubert, 8 Joe van Niekerk, 7 Schalk Burger, 6 Luke Watson (c), 5 Ross Skeate, 4 Gerrie Britz, 3 Brok Harris, 2 Tiaan Liebenberg, 1 JD Moller.

Replacements: 16 Schalk Brits, 17 Schalk Ferreira, 18 Eddie Andrews, 19 Francois van der Merwe, 20 Bolla Conradie, 21 Naas Olivier, 22 Corne Uys.
