Ticket sales hit all time high

With WP Rugby’s new ticket procurement system through ShopriteCheckers outlets, ticket sales for the Investec Stormers match against the Sharks on Friday night hit an all time high.

The huge demand for tickets caused some initial teething problems, but all problems were be ironed out and the system will be for the 5 in a row in April will be running smoothly.

ShopriteCheckers strengthened the Stormers support base by allowing supporters to purchase tickets without having to travel to the stadium. During the first 3 hours of trade on Tuesday 22 February, 1 ticket was sold every 3.8 seconds, on average up to 15h00 today (24 February 2005) 4 tickets were sold every trading minute.

Up to 15h00 today ShopriteCheckers had sold 44% of total of ticket sales the balance still being purchased at Newlands.

Investec Stormers supporters around the country gained access to tickets and sales were recorded at venues nationwide, including Plettenberg Bay, St Johns (KZN), Uitenhage, Oudtshoorn, Kempton Park, Ceres, Durban, Newlands (JHB), Grahamstown, Mosselbay, Knysna and Benoni.

A limited number of seating tickets on in the Primi Family Arena (Jan Pickard Stand) are still available, as well as standing tickets in the Danie Craven stand. Seating tickets for the Primi stand are priced at R70 and standing tickets are priced at R40.

Get down to a Shoprite Checkers early to ensure a seat to what promises to be a massive game on Friday.
