The DHL Stormers returned to a sweltering High Performance Centre in Bellville on Wednesday after a well deserved break.
Coach Allister Coetzee had already declared Phase 1 of the conditioning programme before the break a success and after testing on Wednesday it was evident that the players had worked very hard on their individual programmes during the layoff.
The bulk of the players injured last season have responded well to treatment with most back in full training and all expected to be ready for season kick-off.
A very big squad is currently training with a number of the DHL WP youngsters and a few of the Boland players in the mix. The squad will be cut down as we get closer to competition time. Competition for spots this year is going to be tough and there is already a healthy level of rivalry.
New recruit CJ VDL has fitted in very well to a settled batch of players and is looking in good shape.
