Schalk Burger blitzed 109 runs off just 51 balls against the Cobras at the Pick n Pay Newlands Challenge at Sahara Park on Sunday. The captains innings put the DHL Stormers in a position to win the game.
Needing to match the Cobras massive 211 from 20, the match went down to the last ball. With 3 runs required from the last ball, the 2 Stormers speedsters Habana and Aplon almost completed the 3rd run, but were denied by an excellent piece of Cobras fielding to see the teams tie.
The annual charity event was enjoyed by an enthusiastic crowd at a sweltering Sahara Park.
Next up is Super Rugby as the DHL Stormers take on the Hurricanes at 1705 on Saturday.
