Percy mentors young guns

PUBLISHED: October 30, 2008

Since his retirement from the international arena, Percy Montgomery is thrilled to finally be back at his old stomping ground.

After returning from Bok duty Percy has played an important role, off the field mentoring the youngsters in the Vodacom WP set-up. He maintains there’s tons of talent coming through.

‘There’s a good mix of youth and experience in the setup. I’ve also been working with the guys off the field and some of the youngsters coming through have been really impressive.’

While his involvement in the Absa Currie Cup was carefully managed, Percy’s been hard at work getting himself into shape for next year’s Super 14. ‘I rested really well after the Tri-Nations and I started my pre-season during the final stages of the Currie Cup. I am really looking forward to the Super 14,’ he explains.
