North-South rivalry at DHL Newlands

PUBLISHED: February 7, 2020

The DHL Stormers are up against the Vodacom Bulls in a North-South Vodacom Super Rugby clash at DHL Newlands on Saturday.

The visitors have not won a Vodacom Super Rugby match at DHL Newlands since 2011, which is a record that the DHL Stormers will want to protect in the final season at the ground.

Following their impressive 27-0 opening win against the Hurricanes last week, the DHL Stormers will be looking to make it two from two this season.

Tighthead prop Frans Malherbe will play in his 100th Vodacom Super Rugby match for the DHL Stormers, alongside long-time front row teammates Scarra Ntubeni and captain Steven Kitshoff.

Given the interest in this game it is best to buy your tickets from Computicket beforehand and then get down to DHL Newlands early to avoid long queues.

There will be a curtain-raiser between DHL WP XV and Boland which kicks off at 14h30, with both teams using the match as preparation for the upcoming SuperSport Rugby Challenge.

There will be a minute’s silence observed before kick-off in memory of former Springbok Gert Kotze and long serving WPRFU Primary Schools Executive John Nkalitshana.
