The Investec Stormers took time out from their training preparations for Saturday’s Vodacom Super 12 semi final in Christchurch, New Zealand, to wish everyone back home involved with the bid to host the 2010 Soccer World Cup the best of luck.
The team sent the following message of support from New Zealand:
“The Investec Stormers player and management team wish to extend our support and good wishes to the South African Soccer World Cup Bid Committee and the rest of South Africa as we look forward to hosting a successful World Cup Soccer tournament in 2010.
“We are proud of our country and realise that all successes in the international sporting arena are vitally important in uniting and building our great country.
“We will be awaiting the result eagerly over here in New Zealand and will be holding thumbs for a successful bid.”
