Investec Stormers return to Cape Town

The Investec Stormers returned to Cape Town last night from their tour of Australasia. They face the Sharks in Durban on Saturday, a clash that could see them secure a last 4 berth in this year’s Vodacom Super 12.

“Whilst we are obviously disappointed not to have already secured a last 4 place, our destiny remains in our hands,” said Investec Stormers coach Gert Smal. “We know what we have to do and remain positive of achieving our goals this season.”

Fitness trainer Greg Hechter said, “The team travelled well on their 28 hour journey from New Zealand, slotting into the South African time zones and sleeping patterns directly after the match. The East-West trip is considerably easier on the athletes and they have remained focused and disciplined, and have been given today off to rest and recover. Tomorrow they will have a pool session and a lighter training session to aid and speed up recovery.”

The Investec Stormers remain injury free with no serious injuries to players this week.
