After a hard fought first half, the DHL Stormers showed their class and ran out 38-13 victors in a Vodacom Super Rugby warm up match against the Kings in Port Elizabeth.
The visitors opened the scoring thanks to a try in the corner from Gio Aplon, converted by the returning Joe Pietersen. The hosts responded with a converted try of their own, but it did not take long for Siya Kolisi to put Allister Coetzee’s men back into the lead with a try from a rolling maul. A penalty by King’s made the half time score 12-10.
However the DHL Stormers came out firing in the second half with tries scored by Nick Koster, Jean de Villiers, Pietersen and Burton Francis. The home side could only respond with a penalty to leave the final score at 38-13.
