DHL Stormers 16 – Cheetahs 14

PUBLISHED: May 12, 2012

“It was a win but not a performance we were proud off” said coach Allister Coetzee.

“We had a great start but something changed in the second half. That said though it goes the toughness of this competition and knowing that if you have an off day against any team you can lose. Let’s just say we are happier than the Crusaders were today. We are happy with the win, but there is a lot to work on. It was a wake up call.”

The win was the DHL Stormers 9th from 10 starts and sees the Stormers placed 1 point behind the Bulls in the SA Conference, 4th on the overall log, but just 1 point off the top of the overall log.

Injury wise Nizaam Carr will go for a scan on his knee but the coach said that “the injury looked serious”. Jebb Sinclair the Canadian and London Irish player produced a good performance despite only having arrived from the UK on Wednesday.

Next week the DHL Stormers take on the Waratahs from Sydney, on Saturday at 19h10, at DHL Newlands.
