Vodacom Stormers centre Jean de Villiers was ruled out of Saturday’s Vodacom Super 14 match against the Highlanders at Newlands due to a recurrence of a groin injury.

The blonde Springbok missed the Stormers previous two games due to the troublesome groin, but was earlier this week declared fit and duly included in the side at inside centre.

At Friday’s captain’s run he, however, felt discomfort again and decided not to take any risks.

Gus Theron, who filled in for him in the previous two games but was moved to wing in place of Jonghi Nokwe for this game, shifts back to outside centre. Captain De Wet Barry reverts to inside centre.

Chumani Booi, Vodacom WP’s recruit from Border, will be making his debut at wing.
