Chavhanga cleared to travel to New Zealand

Vodacom Stormers winger Tonderai Chavhanga has been cleared to enter New Zealand. Chanvhanga, a Zimbabwean citizen, was last week informed that there was a delay in his being awarded a visa to enter New Zealand where the Stormers face the Blues and the Chiefs over the coming two weeks.

Soon after the team’s arrival in Perth for this week’s fixture against the Force, team manager, Chippie Solomon, backed by Stormers staff in Cape Town became involved in frantic dealings with the New Zealand consulate to have the visa issued in time. Confirmation of this was received on Wednesday morning.

“What a relief,” said Solomon. “Since our arrival we have been making phone calls, sending emails, couriering documents and running around to get this matter resolved. I am glad that this is now done and that we can rest assured that Tonderai can leave with us on Saturday”.

Chavhanga said he was relieved that the matter had been resolved. “Now I can prepare for Friday’s match with peace of mind,” he said.
