IRB International Player of the Year, Investec Stormers Province flanker Schalk Burger, is one of three Springboks who will play for the Barbarians against the All Blacks this coming Saturday at Twickenham.
The blond forward collected his third international award within a week when he was last night honoured with the IRB International Player of the Year at a glittering awards ceremony in London. The Springboks made a clean sweep as they were also awarded the IRB International Team of the Year, while coach Jake White was honoured as International Coach of the Year.
Burger, flank forward AJ Venter and centre Gcobani Bobo have all been released to play for the Barbarians on Saturday .
Meanwhile, Investec Stormers utility back Jean de Villiers will return to South Africa today. De Villiers sustained an ankle ligament sprain during the defeat against England at Twickenham.
