Allister expecting another titanic battle

PUBLISHED: April 4, 2012

Coach Allister Coetzee named a strong side on Wednesday with only one change to the starting line-up that beat the Vodacom Bulls 20-17, at DHL Newlands last week, with Frans Malherbe moving into the starting XV and Brok Harris moving to the bench in a rotational change.

Despite having played a massive game against the Bulls and then having travelled to the other end of the planet, Coetzee and the team remained upbeat and focussed. “The Highlanders are the best team in the New Zealand conference, there is no time to relax. Our focus is solely on Saturday; we expect nothing less than a titanic battle from the Highlanders. They are only 2 points adrift on the overall log and will be giving it all – it’s going to be another massive one!” said the coach.

“Having only settled in Queenstown yesterday we have a short week and turn-around, but we are based in a beautiful part of the world which really assists recovery and our ability to prepare mentally and physically.”

The match will take place at the Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin which is completely enclosed and weather will not play a part. “It is going to be tough and the conditions should make it a great game.” concluded the coach.
